TO AID THE DELIVERY OF THE ABILITY PROGRAMME IN THE WEST CORK REGION

The Ability programme supports young people aged between **Apply on
the website**- **Apply on the website** years of age that are living
with a mental health condition. The programme uses person centred
approaches to support, build skills and empower for motivation and
confidence. The programme is a gateway for people with mental health
conditions to access education, employment and reintegration into
their communities

The Personal Development Officer (PDO) will work closely with the
Youth Development Officer to develop, implement & evaluate the
programme. The PDO will co- implement referral processes to the
Occupational Therapist, Youth Engagement Officer, Facilitators and
Tutors. The PDO will co-implement recruitment of participants,
assessment and exit strategies. The PDO will work directly with
participants to empower them to progress closer to education, training
or employment. The PDO will maintain a high standard of record keeping
including data management, risk management and person-centred plans.
The PDO will co-produce reports for board, funders and relevant
stakeholders. The PDO will link with partner organisations and
progress the involvement of additional sectors / expertise in the
project. The PDO will be involved in building an awareness of the
Ability project across all relevant stakeholders (including
employers).

EDUCATION:
A recognised and relevant 3rd level qualification

EXPERIENCE/ COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:
Post graduate experience of working with young adults with mental
health needs
Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams
Experience of attending and contributing to third party agency MDT
meetings
High level of ICT skills
Compliant to Risk Management systems, CRM system, GDPR requirements
Membership of a relevant professional body
Additional training in the areas of mental health
High level of administration skills including ability to work with
software packages
Ability to work on own initiative
Excellent time management skills
Excellent caseload management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience of/ ability to identify and apply for various funding
streams
Experience of/ability to keep up to date with social media and input
to same
Experience of and ability to actively contribute to programme
development
