ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Santry, Dublin 9.
Full Time - Fixed term contract (1 year)

The Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service (DoCCFS) is a not
for profit public service organisation. We provide a range of
therapeutic supportive services to children and families based in the
greater Dublin region. The Service works in collaboration with TUSLA
Child and Family Agency local areas in Dublin North East, City, Dublin
Mid Leinster, Meath and Wicklow and with Probation Services in Dublin
North East. Our Services include an Early Childhood Development
Service (ECDS), Family Centre Service, Dublin Safer Families Service
and Assessment Services.

The Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service are committed to
research and evaluation of our services. The information gathered
helps us to improve and to provide high quality services to children
and families.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA

Applicants must have at least two years? work experience in a
similar role. The successful candidate will be proficient with
Microsoft Word & Excel and will have experience using Pegasus Opera &
Sage Micropay.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Assistant duties will include:

* Supporting the Corporate Support Services manager with updating
Finance and Accounts policies and procedures
* Updating service records for defined benefits pension schemes
* Updating the organisations procurement policy and procedures
* Liaising with suppliers to improve value for money for services
and supplies
* Assisting with payroll processing and reconciliation
* Accounts and Payroll Administration projects

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS IS DESIRABLE

* Preparing reconciliations of general ledger accounts, provide
on-going month-end, quarterly, and year-end reporting
* Responsibility for posting invoices to accounting software
* Posting and allocation of bank transactions
* Responsibility for maintenance of the ledgers
* Ad hoc duties to be performed as and when required

WHAT YOU BRING?TO THE TEAM:

* Qualified Accounting Technician/part-qualified Accountant desirable
but not essential
* 2+ years? experience in a similar position
* The candidate should have excellent organizational and time
management skills
* The candidate will be discreet and professional
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy essential with an ability
to recognise and address errors in financial data
* Ability to multi-task and to work on their own initiative
* Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
* Excellent?team player with strong communication skills with an
ability to communicate with people in different business areas
