JOB SUMMARY

To help ensure that Airfield delivers on it?s mission by supporting
the team to create the right culture, structures and systems so that
our people can be at their best and consistently deliver outstanding
and relevant work. The People and Culture Manager leads on HR
activity, ensuring that we have a strong approach to recruiting,
retaining, developing and managing our team

BACKGROUND

Airfield is a **Apply on the website**-acre working educational farm

leading visitor attractions, we welcome local, national and
international visitors throughout the year. We provide a wide range of
programmes and activities that aim to promote an understanding of
agriculture, horticulture and the link between farming and food
production. Our mission is to inspire and enable people to make food
choices that benefit people, planet and pocket. We are a not for
profit organisation and we also operate as a social enterprise.

This is a new role with an immediate start date.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

_PEOPLE STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT_

* Develop our people and culture plan ensuring synergy between it and
the overall Airfield Estate strategy ? enabling the team to have a
clear understanding of how they contribute individually and
collectively to our mission and purpose.
* Contribute to the delivery of our mission and strategy through
development of a high-performing and inclusive workplace culture and
excellent people management practices.

_MANAGEMENT OF PEOPLE AND RESOURCES_

* Manage People and Culture team members effectively providing
coaching, **Apply on the website**-1s, support and performance
management
* Develop and implement an operational plan for the effective
management of HR.

_DELIVERY_

* Support managers in building a strong performance culture by
developing a Performance Development Review framework including
performance reviews, **Apply on the website**-1s, pay / reward etc.
* Ensure efficient HR administration including starters, leavers,
probation and changes to T&Cs.
* Manage the Employee Handbook and all related policies, ensuring
these are fully up to date and amended where necessary to keep up to
date with best practice and legislation.
* Ensure effective recruitment practices, participating in interview
processes where required and ensuring that selection processes are
robust and help recruit people that share our values.
* Oversee the onboarding of new starters including issuing contracts
and preparing induction content.
* Manage processes for understanding and developing team engagement
including engagement surveys and exit interviews.
* Advise the company on all disciplinary or grievance matters that
may arise from time to time, including managing the full disciplinary
or grievance process as appropriate.
* Advise on arrangements for the future of work at Airfield Estate
including flexible and remote hybrid working, co-working, and team
development activity.
* Assist the Senior Leadership Team in managing internal
communication with all the team including preparing people management
updates and supporting all updates at team meetings.
* Oversee our approach to Learning and Development enabling
colleagues to access learning opportunities based on business needs
and individual L&D plans.
* Ensure maximum use of digital technologies to streamline all HR
processes in order to deliver a seamless employee experience, making
recommendations as appropriate.
* Liaise with external third parties who are asked to conduct an
annual HR audit, providing them with all the necessary documentation

_GOVERNANCE AND RISK_

* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures in
relation to HR ? including company (and charity) law, employment
law, GDPR etc.
* Notify senior leadership team of upcoming changes in legislation
that impact HR and draft new policies in relation to same

_STAKEHOLDERS_

* Provide coaching and act as a business partner to senior leaders
and managers in workforce planning and in dealing with team HR
concerns.
* Work with colleagues across the organisation to build and nurture
an open and positive work environment.

_OTHER_

* Attend SLT team meetings, Board, and committee meetings as
required.
* Be an enthusiastic advocate for our values.
* Be administratively self-supporting.
* Maintain own professional networks and promote Airfield Estate on
a local and national level.
* Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with
the post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* 3rd?level degree in Human Resources or similar qualification
* **Apply on the website** years in-house HR experience including
advising and supporting managers in good HR practice.
* Track record of delivering strong and accurate administrative
work, with excellent attention to detail.
* Supporting and developing teams including performance management
and coaching.
* Good knowledge of best practice in relation to Equality, Diversity
and Inclusivity and ability to apply this to build an inclusive
workplace culture.
* Good knowledge of employment law trends, issues and developments.

Desirable

* Working or volunteering within a not for profit or social
enterprise sector organisation.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

* Good attention to detail and able to produce work with a high-level
of accuracy.
* Able to communicate clearly and confidently using a range of
channels.
* Strong IT and digital skills ? including MS Office and digital
communication tools.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational skills ? the ability to work on own
initiative and prioritise workload.
* Strong data analysis and management information skills.
