Do you have experience of working with members of the Traveller
community?

Would you like to learn new skills to help parents and children
strengthen their relationships?

Exchange House Ireland is an organisation of Travellers and
non-Travellers working together to provide services to the Traveller
community. Some parents we work with have children that are not in
their care. There are different reasons for this e.g. family
breakdown, conflict, imprisonment etc. These parents often need a
neutral and supportive space to spend time with their children. This
time is called ?access? and we provide space for this in our
family resource room.

We?re hiring a

FAMILY SUPPORT ACCESS WORKER

We are recruiting a Family Support Access Worker to facilitate access
between parents and their children. You will receive in-house
training, mentoring and supervision from our experienced team to help
you support and encourage parents to connect with their children
during and between access and to strengthen their relationships.

JOB DESCRIPTION

* Support parents to interact and communicate with their children
during visits.
* Support parents to connect with their children outside of visits
e.g. letters, calls.
* Help parents to respond to their children?s needs including
childhood trauma.
* Support parents to talk to their children about difficult changes
in the family.
* Liaise with prison services and Tusla about visits and other
contact.
* Work with parents and family members in relation to contact with
their children.
* Complete access plans, contact reports and case notes.
* Work within Children First, health and safety and client
confidentiality guidelines.
* Participate in all supervisory and team meetings.
* Participate in the duty system and any additional duties as
required.

*This role is based in Dublin but involves prison in-reach and
outreach work in greater Dublin.

Qualifications and experience preferred but not essential as
