CLARE HAVEN SERVICES

Clare Haven Services is a voluntary organisation providing **Apply on

support services to women and children who experience domestic abuse.
Clare Haven Services promotes the rights of women and their children
to live and grow in a peaceful, non-violent home environment.

We are currently recruiting for the following part time post in our
service:

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLES? SUPPORT WORKER

We are looking for a qualified, committed individual who is passionate
about working with Children & Young People, to work as part of the
Children & Young People?s Service?s team to ensure consistent care
and support for children and young people using the service. The
successful candidate will have ability to work alone and in team
settings to provide a therapeutic environment for children and young
people who are experiencing domestic violence.

The post is part time spread over a 5 day week with hours fluctuating

per week subject to funding and the demands of the service. The
candidates will be required to be reliable and flexible regarding
their hours of work and duties assigned. The working hours will be
determined by the need of the service and that will include working in
the evening and/or over a weekend based on residents? and outreach
service requirements.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL

* Relevant third level qualification at degree LEVEL 7 in the area of
Early Childhood Studies _It is essential that the qualification allows
the applicant to work in an early years or school age setting. _
* _2 - 3 years? experience__ working with children and families. _

* Ability to assess the support needs of children & young people
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to be reactive to the
needs of the children & young people.
* Ability to engage with a variety of professional and individuals
to provide a holistic & integrated response to the needs of children &
young people
* Be committed to work in partnership with mothers

DESIRABLE

* An understanding of the impact of Trauma and how it can present in
children and young people
* Experience supporting children and young people through
disclosures of abuse
* Experience of the Children First Legislation and practices
* An understanding of domestic abuse and coercive control.
