WE ARE INVITING APPLICATIONS FROM SUITABLY QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS FOR
THE POST OF:

MENTAL HEALTH PROMOTION OFFICER

FIXED TERM CONTRACT (PART-TIME)

REPORTING TO: CEO

Cork Mental Health is a voluntary organisation with Committees and
facilities throughout Cork City and County. Cork Mental Health aims to
promote positive mental health within the community through our
education programmes, training and awareness raising activities.

The Mental Health Promotion officer will work to promote the work of
the foundation as well as promote positive mental health through the
running of various campaigns throughout the year.

The Mental Health Promotion Officer will work closely with our CEO to
assist the various committees, projects, centres and volunteers
throughout the county.

MAIN DUTIES:

* Support the CEO to develop and run various projects such as
Reflecting Through Art and our Primary schools project.
* Coordinate with our various mental health committees and work with
our volunteers to deliver various initiatives and campaigns.
* Assist in the training of volunteers to deliver our primary
schools project.
* Support and encourage our Committees, Centres and volunteers to
run mental health promotion events ? such as world mental health
day.
* Be responsible for organising seminars, webinars and other
training and information sessions for volunteers and the general
public.
* Run mental health promotion initiatives within Companies,
community Groups and other settings.
* To be responsible for our social media and website activity and to
promote positive mental health and the work of the organisation as
much as possible.
* To be involved in fundraising activities where necessary.
* To remain conversant with new developments in education,
particularly in the area of Mental Health
* To attend the monthly meetings of the Education Committee and to
act as Recording Secretary to the Committee
* To undertake duties as assigned by the CEO
* Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, communities
and associations and other agencies who have a key role in Mental
Health Promotion

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

* A recognised Third level qualification in a relevant area
* 3 years? experience working within a health promotion role
* Experience running awareness raising campaigns/programmes and
initiatives both through the press and social media
* Experience working in mental health would be a distinct advantage
but is not essential
* Excellent Communication/Presentation skills
* High standard of computer literacy and publication design kills
(Excel, Word, Power Point, Publisher, Access, Outlook and the
Internet).

Full induction and training will be provided
