Are you an R&D Engineer with experience in the Medical Device or Manufacturing industries? Would you like to work for a multinational company based in Galway? This is a maternity cover role with an immediate start, excellent salary and benefits.

 

R&D Engineer - Medical Devices - Galway

Our client is a multinational medical devices manufacturer who specialise in the development and manufacture of cardiovascular devices and implants.

 

Job Description

This person will be design,develop,modify and evaluate medical devices(specifically,PTCA stent delivery systems) in accordance with relevant FDA/BSI 

and ISO standards. Use structured engineering and statistical techniques to design new products and develop new and existing products and processes 

whilst adhering to regulatory requirements, projects deadlines and products costs.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Analyze catheter architecture and related mechanical designs & design requirements for PTCA stent delivery systems.

Design and set-up experiments,manage evaluation testing and work with suppliers/manufacturers in developing new and existing products.

Actively involved in specifying,sourcing,testing and approving material.

Prepare and lead critical technical design reviews,including preparation and presentation of supporting design documents.

Product manage transfer of product from concept/design phase to commercial manufacturing.

Create and maintain design-related technical notes building a complete design history file.

Compile and analyse operational,test and development data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products.

Manage and prepare engineering test protocols and reports.

Provide design concepts.

Work closely with manufacturing engineers to continually develop processes in relation to yield,overheads and labour efficiency.

 

 

Requirements:

Min 4 year industry experience in a medical device manufacturing.

Science/Engineering/Quality Degree and relevant experience.

Knowledge in the use of a variety of materials (plastics,metals,adhesives etc).

Knowledge of catheter manufacturing processes is essential.

Experience in bringing a product from concept/design phase to commercial manufacturing.

Significant experience with design control and ISO13485.

Strong project management and leadership skills essential.

Six Sigma green belt experience.

 

 

Package:

Maternity Cover Position - Immediate start

Mon-Fri 8.00am-5.00pm (Fri 4.00pm) 39 hrs
