INTRODUCTION

Casadh was developed as a response by the greater Dublin 8 community
who have been affected by drug addiction. The concept was to develop a
centre that would be managed and co-ordinated by interested community
groups and to respond in a comprehensive way to the needs of those
affected by addiction in the area. The company was incorporated in

It was felt at that time, that there was lack of community-initiated
services providing educational and training opportunities to long-term
recovering drug users who were stabilised on methadone. The word
?Casadh? is an Irish word, which literally means, ?To Turn? or
Twist?. The term ?Casadh? was therefore developed in the context
of helping ?turn the tide of addiction?

Casadh operates a three tier service, a stabilisation group, a Detox
Service and a Drug Free After care programme. Casadh has recently
moved from its original location in Newmarket Dublin 8 to Crumlin in

at its service provision to ensure it is meeting the needs of the
service users and the community it serves. Among the needs identified
was the provision of a Recovery Hub?

OUTLINE OF TENDER

* To provide an independent oversight in the development of a
?Recovery Hub? an initiative designed to assist persons in later
stage recovery from addiction, access aftercare with an adult
education and rehabilitation focus
* To work closely with the Manager, Board, Staff and Service users
to develop a strategic proposal for the project in the context of the
new premises and the development of the ?Recovery Hub?
* To support the Manager, Staff and Board of Management to meet high
standards of compliance and good governance across the organisation.
* To collaborate with other stakeholders in the South Inner City and
adjoining task-force areas to develop and promote the ?Recovery
Hub?
* To troubleshoot any presenting issues in conjunction with the
project and the project stakeholders and where necessary the funders.
* Provide support in developing and implementation of any new
Policies and Procedures to meet the requirements of Safer Better
Healthcare
* To assist and help manage processes to ensure Casadh meets or
exceeds its regulatory requirements, including Charity regulation,
Governance Code and the HSE Service Arrangement.
