JOB TITLE: SENIOR SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY OFFICER

mission of Dignity4Patients is to provide services for the recovery of
patients who suffer sexual abuse in the Irish health service and the
prevention of such abuse.

SENIOR SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY OFFICER

THE ROLE

Dignity4Patients is recruiting a Senior Support and Advocacy Officer
to provide support, advocacy, information and court accompaniment
services to our clients.

The duties of the Senior Support and Advocacy Officers?will include:

* Sourcing relevant information to empower clients in making informed
decisions for their individual healing and recovery. The Support and
Advocacy Officer will ensure safe and effective client contact with
other agencies and services as required.
* Responsibility for conducting one-to-one appointments and client
assessments.
* Management and delivery of Court Accompaniment services to all
Dignity4Patients clients. Our service offers both emotional and
practical support to all Dignity4Patients clients who are availing of
our Court Accompaniment Programme.
* Liaison with TUSLA, the Department of Justice, the HSE, An Garda
S?och?na and other bodies on behalf of clients and in advocating for
prevention of sexual abuse of patients.
* Ensuring all victims?/clients? rights are met under
legislation including managing all Dignity4Patients obligations under
Child Protection Law and Data Protection (GDPR).
* Provision of required reports to the Chief Executive Officer /
Board of Management on the use of funding and relevant service
statistics.
* Attend stakeholder meetings, conferences and training. Apply the
knowledge acquired at such events to Dignity4Patients client services.
* Liaise with the CEO on all matters pertaining to the client
service.
* Contribute towards the advancement of the service & policy
development.
* Responsible for the support and management of Dignity4Patients
helpline assistants and development and management of the
Dignity4Patients helpline Service.

REPORTING TO: Chief Executive Officer

THE CANDIDATE

Applications are invited from fully accredited counsellors,
psychotherapists, psychologists, nurses, social care workers, advocacy
officers, or similar professional backgrounds, with a minimum five
years? post-qualification experience.

Candidate should have preferred experience in:

* Working with victims of sexual abuse
* Client Needs Assessments
* Crisis and Suicide Support

Be passionate in providing the best support, advice and information to
our clients in a compassionate, caring and confidential manner.
Have excellent interpersonal/communication/report writing skills,
fluent English and computer skills.
Empathy with and commitment to the Dignity4Patients ethos and vision
statement.
Ability to work with a wide range of health and social service
agencies.
Have a full driving license.

IDEALLY candidates will have a understanding of medical procedures and
of health Institutions and knowledge of the Irish legal system.

This is a part-time role working _4 days per week_ Monday through
Thursday.

The position will be based in the Dignity4Patients offices in
Drogheda.
