We are looking for three passionate and dedicated professionals to
join the Society who will form part of a new team dedicated to
developing and improving services and supports for the more than

who are living after a cancer diagnosis.

This team will imagine, design, develop and support the delivery of
new programmes as well as deliver and improve upon existing
programmes, exploring novel ways and developing new channels to ensure
that everyone impacted by cancer can access the supports they need.

The role of the Survivorship & Community Supports Manager is to manage
existing survivorship and community supports and lead the envelopment
of new innovative supports for people impacted by cancer through
multiple delivery channels.

You will work with the Director of Service Delivery & Innovation, your
direct reports and the wider Services Team to achieve the ambitions
for survivorship and community based supports set out in the Irish
Cancer Society strategy. You will lead a programme to identify,
develop and deliver new support services to help reduce the burden of
cancer and improve the quality of life of people affected by cancer.

You will be the lead relationship manager for how we engage and work
with community based cancer support groups, enabling the Society to
deliver evidence based high impact services.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SURVIVORSHIP & COMMUNITY NEW SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

* Work with the Director of Service Delivery & Innovation and other
colleagues to translate the ambition set out in the Society?s
strategy to enhance cancer survivorship supports into a comprehensive
implementation plan.
* Work with the Survivorship & Community Team to design & develop
new initiatives and supports.
* Prioritise the implementation phasing for new initiatives and
supports.
* Ensure that the new initiatives and supports developed are aligned
and integrated with organisational ambition for enhancing overall
service user experience.
* Manage the process of innovative change effectively and remain on
the forefront of emerging practices and approaches.

SURVIVORSHIP & COMMUNITY SUPPORTS MANAGEMENT

* Provide overall project management, risk management, coordination
and support for survivorship and community based projects, internal &
external.
* Prepare updates and project progress reports, including program
performance and outcomes and provide recommendations for future
planning;
* Manage contractual obligations with external partners for all
assigned projects;
* Monitor timelines, delivery of projects and oversee budget for
assigned initiatives (including the development of appropriate budget
tracking and oversight procedures);
* Develop detailed project plans that identify timelines,
deliverables and resource requirements for assigned initiatives;
create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to
meet changing needs and requirements;
* Work with senior colleagues to develop strategic partnership
opportunities with which to increase the reach and impact of
survivorship and community support programmes.

PARTNERSHIPS & STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS

* Establish and strengthen collaborative relationships, both internal
and external, to foster links in areas of mutual interest;
* Liaise with organisations, including Department of Health,
National Cancer Control Programme, network of Community Cancer Support
Centres and other relevant organisations to further the impact of the
Society?s work
* Develop and operationalise an overall strategy for engagement with
Community Cancer Support Centres and act as overall lead for the
Society?s relationships with these community groups.
* Coordinate, and deliver, consultation sessions with cancer
survivors, health professionals, academic researchers and
policy-makers;
* Facilitate team and stakeholder meetings effectively;
* Identify partnership opportunities and work with key stakeholders
to enhance existing programs and services;
* Develop opportunities to actively promote, share learnings and
facilitate collaboration with partners and stakeholders;
* Represent the Society and promote its work and strategic
initiatives through presentations, attendance at conferences and other
activities.

LEADERSHIP

* Motivate internal and external stakeholders to work effectively
together and pro-actively participate in networking related
activities;
* Communicate effectively and persuasively at all levels, from the
clinical, academic and community based settings through to the
Society?s executive management team;
* Lead and motivate an effective and high-performing team,
supporting the development of team members.
* Respond to queries from the wider Irish Cancer Society team, the
public, community organisations and health care professionals on
survivorship initiatives.

BUDGET MONITORING

* Budget preparation and tracking of all assigned survivorship
initiatives.
* Manage contractual obligations for projects, ensure timely and
accurate invoicing and payments, ensure compliance with budget and
report variances to Director Service Delivery & Innovation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

* A degree or professional qualification in Healthcare, Social Care,
Health Science, Social Science, Nursing, Community Development or
related field. Additional relevant work experience will be considered
in lieu of a formal education qualification.
* A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in programme
management, project management, design and/or implementation of new
services and stakeholder engagement. The Irish Cancer Society measures
experience by the quality of the experience gained, rather than number
of years worked.
* Experience in needs assessment, project planning and project
management, evaluation and report writing
* An in-depth understanding of approaches/strategies required to
address social and health inequalities at service design level.
* An in-depth understanding of strategies and policies relating to
cancer and chronic disease management, and health equity at both
regional and national level.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication
skills.
* Strong facilitation and training skills.
* Excellent organisational, administration and co-ordination skills.
* Excellent ICT skills, including MS Office suite, MS Teams and a
good working knowledge of data base management.
* Ability to work effectively with co-workers and collaborate with
health and social care professionals, NCCP, community organisations
and others to maintain and build partnerships, to maximise the impact
of joint resources.
* Proactive and flexible in approach.

DESIRABLE, BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

* Postgraduate Diploma/Masters or higher in a relevant field.
* Experience of working in cancer survivorship and/or healthcare and
the community development sector.
* Experience of working with multiple population groups including
disadvantaged groups.

GENERAL:
