FULL-TIME, EMPLOYER LIAISON

IASIO (the Irish Association for Social Inclusion Opportunities), is a
national organisation that works with State agencies in the
development and delivery of services to marginalised groups, enabling
communities to become more socially inclusive through excellence in
practice. IASIO?s current operational scope includes three national
Services and two smaller projects: The Linkage Service, the Gate
Service, the Resettlement Service; and, The Community Support Scheme
and The Supported Employment Service. In particular, it is the only
national organisation for adult offenders in the community and
voluntary sector with a specific focus on alternatives to both
offending and re-imprisonment. This is achieved through the provision
of direct services to offenders in the community and to prisoners,
services which range from 1-to-1 guidance counselling, group work,
psychometric assessment, resettlement planning & support and placement
in the community. IASIO?s core mission is the social inclusion of
people marginalised from mainstream opportunity.

We are seeking applications from suitable candidates for a full-time
EMPLOYER LIAISON as part of a new Recruit & Retain Service in IASIO.

The RECRUIT & RETAIN SERVICE will provide a support package to
employers in participant social enterprises seeking to recruit people
with a criminal conviction. The Recruit & Retain Service is strongly
aligned with the Department of Justice?s Working to Change: Social
Enterprise and Employment Strategy **Apply on the website** ?
**Apply on the website**. As such the aim of the Recruit & Retain
Service is to further address the employment needs of people in
prison, those on a Probation sanction in the community and people with
historical convictions.

The objectives of the Recruit & Retain Service is to make it easier
for a participating social enterprise to source talented people with a
criminal conviction and employ them; by helping advertise available
positions, providing recruitment advice and support; and advising on
any retention questions that may arise.

EMPLOYER LIAISON FOR THE RECRUIT & RETAIN SERVICE:

* The Employer Liaison will assist social enterprises in their
recruitment of people with convictions.
* They will support social enterprises in the development of
policies and practices for the recruitment and retention of people
with convictions
* Practical supports will include helping social enterprises
identify required employee competencies, job spec development, job
advertisements, interview preparation and employee selection and
appointment
* The Employer Liaison will develop networks across state and
community sector agencies that support the recruitment of people with
convictions
* They will promote the value of recruiting people with convictions
* They will enhance, through social enterprise recruitments, access
to employment for people with convictions

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POST WILL HAVE:

* A Third Level qualification in a relevant area such as Business
Studies, Human Resources, Social Studies, Social Policy/Law and/or
Social Enterprises
* An excellent understanding of recruitment processes
* A good understanding of the barriers to employment facing people
with convictions
* A good understanding of the Irish criminal justice sector
* Full and current drivers license
* Must have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced role and meet
the requirements for working in a busy role with national scope

A GOOD GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF:

* IASIO and its range of programmes
* The Social Enterprise Sector in Ireland & related
strategies/policies
* The Irish Criminal Justice system
* The Irish employment market
* The issues and concerns for employers in the hiring of people with
convictions

EXPERIENCE

* Experience of advising and supporting organisations in policy and
practice development
* Experience of the issues facing people with convictions
* Experience of working on personal initiative
* 2 years prior experience of working in recruitment, the social
enterprise sector or the criminal justice sector
