Project Manager
Job Description



Development and installation of manufacturing processes and for new product introductions. 

The successful candidate will provide the project management and technical lead in cross functional teams to set up new processes to meet challenging project commitments in line with agreed metrics. 

The role will involve collaborating with global manufacturing and R&D teams to develop innovative, cost effective, stable manufacturing processes.

 

Principle Responsibilities:

Identify and manage the major project tasks/ milestones, timelines and owners to support the project deployment date in collaboration with all workstream leads.

Develop / maintain full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely fashion.

Monitor progress of all major tasks/ milestones through to completion with all project team members and other assigned owners to maintain accurate visibility of project status. 

Report/ escalate any slippage that impacts the planned deployment dates and identify appropriate mitigation actions

Identify the critical path and work with team pull in / maintain completion dates

Manage / coordination of documentation for change control, risks/ mitigation plans, and contingency plans.

Lead process development requirements and work with cross functional teams in the client's facilities and Global facilities.

Provide design for manufacturing technical input to minimise lifecycle cost

Deliver stable manufacturing solutions in line with stability metrics process.

Management of development builds and validations.

Conduct product design reviews

Manage risk management and validation lifecycle for new process or process changes.

Full budget responsibility for project capital and expense spend

Influence qualification methodologies to apply appropriate statistical and validation techniques based on failure model and overall risk

Develop strategic collaborations across functions, business units and geographic boundaries to achieve effective outcomes over the long-term.


 
Requirements:


Essential 

Obtained as a minimum a Degree (Level 8) in Mechanical / Biomedical / Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline


2 years experience in a medical device or comparable hi-tech environment. 

Demonstrated ability to lead teams within a project and give direction to fellow team members, contractors, vendors to complete tasks to a defined timeline. 

Experience using proven problem solving / Root causing techniques (8D, A3, TRIZ or equivalent)

Self motivated, with focus on Quality, Timelines and Cost.

Excellent Planning & Organizing Skills

Expert knowledge of lean manufacturing processes

Project Management Certification or experience equivalent to 3 years 

High-level MS Applications knowledge 

 

Desirable

Proven track record in development and Installation of manufacturing processes for Product Transfer.

Certified Six Sigma qualifications.

Proficiency of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M 1994 standards
