EHS Co Ordinator
Job Description




Responsible for providing EHS support to our operations and assisting with other department duties.

Manage and coordinate the EHS function ensuring compliance to GEHS requirements, local procedures, OHSAS 18001 standard and applicable legal requirements.

Responsible to maintain the existing EHS Management System on site.

Responsible to assess the hazards and risks on site while implementing suitable improvements and controls necessary to reduce the associated risk to acceptable levels.

Completion / scheduling of necessary safety inspections and audits.

Liaising with internal and external auditors on site.

Completion of safety accident / incident investigations and the identification of actions necessary to prevent reoccurrence in conjunction with the responsible teams.

Identification of EHS training needs and preparation and delivery of associated training modules such as EHS orientation

Promotion of good safety practices on a daily basis and continuous review of practices to ensure that they are in line with all procedures and applicable legislation.

Report to Corporate as required.

Assist with HR and Administrative duties as required.

Provide back up for Training Coordinator from time to time. 


 

Requirements:



Diploma or Degree in EHS related deiscipline

1-2 years experience in EHS role

Experience working in a regulated environment

Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards. 

Full knowledge of industry practices.
