CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

_WHO WE ARE_

The?National Federation of Voluntary Service Providers Supporting
People with Intellectual Disability is a national umbrella
organisation of voluntary/non-statutory agencies that provide direct
services to people with intellectual disability in Ireland on the
basis of service arrangements with the Health Services Executive

enable voluntary organisations to adapt to a radically changing
operating environment, with the ultimate aim of ensuring that people
with intellectual disability live a life of their choosing.?

_THE ROLE_

Based in Oranmore, Co. Galway and reporting to the Chairperson of the
Board of Directors, the Chief Executive is a strategic influencer of
policy and service development at national level, developing and
establishing relationships and working directly with key stakeholders
across the public and voluntary sector and government while
representing the interests and views of member organisations.

The role holds accountability for the overall leadership, management,
planning, organisation and delivery of the strategic focus of the
Board of the National Federation of Voluntary Service Providers.

This role requires a strong commitment and drive in representing the
interests of member organisations with the focus on key deliverables
of our strategic focus set out in our Mission, underpinned by our
principles of Inclusion, Choice, Dignity, Respect, Participation and
Contribution and rooted in the rights-based perspective.

_THE PERSON_

Qualified to degree level or equivalent, with considerable leadership
and management experience in the not-for-profit, private or public
sector, the ideal candidate will:

* Have significant experience at senior management level including
experience of leading, managing and motivating a team,
* Develop the annual budget for Board approval and implement prudent
financial management.
* Be knowledgeable and experienced in developing and implementing a
strategic plan and can demonstrate the communication skills to set out
a vision and strategic priorities.
* Have strong leadership skills and experience of developing and
maintaining excellent relationships with members.
* Have a good interpersonal and problem-solving skills and the
ability to advocate on behalf of member organisations and the sector.
* Possess skills as a strategic influencer and have experience of
developing relationships with key stakeholders at government,
departmental and national HSE level, with the media, business and the
wider non-for-profit sector.
* Possess stellar negotiation skills to represent on behalf of the
sector, member agencies and all stakeholders. Be knowledgeable on the
impact of service innovation and change in intellectual disability
services.
* Have extensive knowledge and understanding of the changing
direction of policy and service provision in the Disability Sector and
the regulatory environment.
* Possess analytical skills to build and maintain strong sector
relevant data to influence nationally with key stakeholders within the
Intellectual Disability Sector including Health Services Executive
(HSE), Department of Health Department of Public Expenditure & Reform,
and all relevant government departments.
* Have experience of operating under an active corporate governance
and compliance framework, in accordance with relevant national
standards, including the Charities Governance Code.
* Show a high capacity of professionalism and accountability as a
leader and strong commitment to the values, mission and objectives of
the organisation.
* Be eligible to work in Ireland and possess all necessary
permits/visas, if applicable.
* The successful applicant should ideally have access to a car and
have a full, clean driver?s licence.
* This position is subject to successful Garda Vetting.
* This position is a permanent, full-time role. The successful
candidate may be required to work flexible hours as required, in line
with organisational needs.
