Our site in Drogheda is commencing a major upgrade and refurbishment
of all facilities. In addition to this investment there are a number
of new lines being brought into production. This BD facility is the
only one globally which manufactures one of our new PosiFlush?
products.

With this steady growth and expansion taking place we are now
recruiting for a Microbiology/Chemistry Technician to join our team at
BD Drogheda.

Working within the Quality Organisation supporting the day-to-day
production of BD?s pre-filled syringe product (Flush) through
detailed technical analysis and the provision of timely, robust data.
This is a twelve-month fixed term contract and will operate on a shift
basis.

Main responsibilities will include:

Testing and Trending of Test data.

Environmental Monitoring - performing and trending.

Sterility Assurance - Testing and implementing the principles of good
sterility assurance.

Bioburden testing of components and solutions.

Adhere to site SOPs and the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice.

Training of fellow technicians and operators as required.

Endotoxin Testing.

Salt Sampling.

Chemistry Testing including pH, Assay, UV, Sub visible, Heavy Metals,
Nitrates, TOC, Conductivity, Salt testing, Hardness, Chloride and
Chlorine.

Reagent Preparation.

Stock Taking and Control.

Perform Daily, Monthly calibration of equipment.

Use of lab autoclave and oven, correct completion of paperwork.

Introduce Process improvements and create, update and review SOPs for
the lab and the site where applicable.

Review of lab and site steriliser files.

Validation of lab equipment.

Test Method/Measurement Systems Analysis of lab testing.

Support the site sterilisation requalification.

Support the requalification of the clean rooms.

Root cause investigation of out of specification results.

Addressing CAPAs.

Review of test data including continuous monitoring.

Reporting of out of specification results and atypical events as they
arise.

Deputise for DHR compilation.

GMP Ambassador.

The successful candidate will have:
Diploma or Degree level in microbiology or science discipline.

Previous lab experience of ? 1 year in pharmaceuticals or medical
devices.

A good understanding of GMP.

Aseptic technique or manufacture.

_EXPERIENCE WORKING_ in a cross functional team.

_ABILITY TO_ cooperate with extended team members.

Strong work ethic.

_WILLINGNESS TO_ take ownership of key tasks.

The company operates **Apply on the website** hours/day, 7 days/week.
This is a 4-Cycle Shift Pattern role (Days and Nights). You must be
willing to work 2 x **Apply on the website**-hour days, followed by 2
x **Apply on the website**-hour nights, followed by 4 days off.
