The Mid-West Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO3) encompasses
Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary. The CHO3 Mental Health Service
and the National Office for Suicide Prevention invites applications
from suitability qualified and experienced candidates to assist with
the delivery of Connecting for Life HSE Mid-West Action Plan **Apply

Services Reform Programme focuses on developing communities of
wellness through collaboration and partnership, working across all
stakeholders and HSE services.

Connecting for Life (CFL) is Ireland?s National Strategy to Reduce
Suicide **Apply on the website** (extended to **Apply on the
website**). CFL sets out several important roles for the National
Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP), including responsibility for
co-ordination of national implementation plans.

The main components of the NOSP?s role are as follows:

* Co-ordination of national implementation plans, statutory and
non-statutory
* Information, research and evaluation
* Tracking of data to support evidence-based approaches
* Development of standards and guidelines for organisations working
in suicide prevention
* Co-ordination of a national education and training plan
* Media monitoring to improve media reporting
* Communication strategies and campaigns improving understanding and
reducing stigma.

The National Office for Suicide Prevention works very closely with the
HSE Resource Officers for Suicide Prevention located around the
country. In partnership with relevant stakeholders, the HSE Mid-West
Office for Suicide Prevention co-ordinates, advises and leads on the
regional implementation of the action areas within the local
Connecting for Life Action Plan.

THE RESOURCE OFFICER FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

* Regional Structure and Plan
* Engagement and Collaborative Working
* Address Service and Support Gaps
* Mental Health Promotion
* Representation
* Standards, Regulations, Policies, Procedures & Legislation

QUALIFICATIONS AND/ OR EXPERIENCE

Eligible applicants must:

* Hold a degree or professional qualification relevant to health,
public health, health promotion or health care management.
* Have experience of delivering programmes within mental health,
statutory mental health services or other areas such as community
development, public health or health promotion.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the evidence base
related to suicide prevention and mental health promotion and have
demonstrated capacity to achieve results through cross-sectoral
working with multiple stakeholders.
* Candidates must have at least 5 years? postgraduate experience
in health and social care settings and be currently employed in a
management role.
