thousands of unique customers, some of which have over a million

**Apply on the website** So, where exactly does the Environments
organisation fit into the Workday picture? The Environments
organisation is responsible for pushing new code to our existing
customers, along with monitoring the health, performance and stability
of the Workday stack. Within the Environments organisation, Private
Cloud Deployment Engineering (PCDE) are a global team focused
primarily on automating and optimising the operational tasks involved
in updating the Workday stack on a weekly basis.

About the role:

_YOU WILL_ work on the automation of business-critical operational
tasks using a combination of:
Ansible-based automation Data-driven analysis of our tooling to
identify performance bottlenecks and improvements Bespoke Python and
Ruby CLI applications developed by the PCDE team Bash scripting
orchestrated using BMC?s Blade

Logic product Chef

_YOU WILL_ be involved in driving the future direction of how we
identify and deliver improvements to key business functions like
patching/upgrading the Workday stack

_YOU WILL_ be a member of the PCDE team in Dublin, collaborating with
global counterparts to identify and implement improvements to our
current tools and processes

_YOU WILL_ support your team mates in the development of their
technical skills

_YOU WILL_ work the wider Environments organisation on monitoring the
Workday customer environments (we use a combination of Sensu,
WaveFront & Pager

Duty) A bit about you:

_YOU HAVE_ previously been part of a Software Engineering team,
ideally with a Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science/Software
Engineering or related discipline

_YOU HAVE_ lived the Software Development Lifecycle, with hands on
experience of creating automated test pipelines!

_YOU HAVE_ extensive knowledge of working in a Linux/Unix Operating
Environment, ideally with Systems Administration experience

_YOU ARE_ an experienced Python coder

_YOU HAVE_ implemented solutions using Configuration Management
tooling, ideally Ansible Even though you know Python, there are some
tasks for which you still use shell scripts!

_YOU USE_ source control management systems as part of your daily
work, ideally GIT or Mercurial

_YOU ARE_ passionate about technology and enjoy investigating new
tools and techniques to seek out better ways of automating operational
tasks You enjoy working in a collaborative environment, openly sharing
your knowledge with others and you enjoy learning from others too!
Beneficial if you have prior experience of some the following (but if
not there will be an opportunity to expand your skills in these
areas!):
Designing and developing Web Applications Leveraging CI/CD pipelines
using Jenkins

_EXPERIENCE OF_ using Confluence & Jira

_EXPERIENCE OF_ Agile development frameworks, specifically Scrum
and/or Kanban

_EXPERIENCE WITH_ MySQL databases

_EXPERIENCE WITH_ private or public cloud environments #LI-EL1 Workday
